Jug Or Nots

The Jug or Nots, Southern California's Premiere Jug Band, formed in 2009 and embarked on a mission to bring American music of the 1920s and 1930s, authentically played, to today's audiences. They play traditional music: Americana, Blues, Moonshine, from the 1920s and 1930s on period instruments, including cigar box guitar, washboard, kazoo, resonator guitar, banjo, and standup bass. At times sounding like a rusty bicycle and at others times like a steam locomotive. The Jug or Nots have performed at such places as the 2010 and 2011 International Jug Band Festival in Sutter Creek, California, and at the Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression Festival. Members of the sextet have performed in other kinds of bands, from jazz to progressive to punk. This time it's all about having fun as we proudly present our high energy acoustic musical mischief. At a Jug or Nots show, one can expect traditional blues-based jug band music played with excitement and passion! Washboards will rattle, kazoos will buzz, and frying pans will clang!
